Doing Good at Cloud Nine Cottage

Doing Good at Cloud Nine Cottage
This October, Cloud Nine Cottage on Waiheke Island, is donating a 2-night stay for up to 6 people in support the charity Hands Across The Water. This trip is being auctioned at the HANDS Night of Celebration at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on Saturday 15th October.   The owners of Cloud Nine Cottage have been involved with Hands for a number of years and continue to support their amazing work.
Hands Across The Water is an Australian, New Zealand and Thai charity that gives at-risk Thai children and their communities a helping hand for the long-term.  Started after the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, this charity stands because of the huge difference they make to these children and the way they operate.
For example, 100% of donations goes to the kids and their communities. No donors’ money goes to admin costs, or for staff, or marketing expenses…or fundraising.
Next year, in March 2017, there will be an inaugural bike ride in New Zealand.  Riders will ride 500kms from Cape Reinga to Auckland and raise $3000 each to do so.   If you are interested in any of the rides or volunteering, please look at the Hands Across the Water Website.
There is also still time to book a ticket for the Night of Celebration and why not come and stay at Cloud Nine Cottage and hop on the ferry in your glad rags to the event from Waiheke Island?   (At the time of publishing, this weekend is still available at the cottage!)

What better excuse to visit Waiheke Island for the best in wine and food?  And what could be better than a day of oysters, wine, music and celebrity chef demonstrations?
Te Matuku’s Pacific Oysters are highly prized by oyster lovers from New Zealand and all over the world.
This event was originally postponed until Saturday 5 November due to high rainfall.
